Mon 20 Mar 2017 – Richard Grainger
Acclaimed guitarist and singer songwriter, Richard is perhaps best known for his songs of the North East, since his roots are in Middlesbrough, and his current home in Whitby. Expect an eclectic mix of land and sea songs from this area. Richard Grainger
Mon 3 Apr 2017 – Chris Green & Sophie Matthews
Acclaimed performers of traditional English songs and tunes in a style very much their own. Their instruments include cittern, English border bagpipes and shawm as well as modern folk instruments such as guitar, flute and piano accordion. Chris Green & Sophie Matthews
As this is Easter Monday we are not booking a guest, but we invite anyone to come along and play or sing, or simply to listen. No charge for admission.
Mon 15 May 2017 – Four Gone Confusion
A new local band consisting of club residents John & Di Cullen with their friends Pete & Brenda Storer. An eclectic mix of material, with four part harmony, and guitar bouzouki and flute.
Roger Resch & Liz Randall perform sea songs, including shanties, and also more reflective or humorous songs, both from the tradition and from contemporary sources. They sing a cappella as well as accompanied by a variety of instruments, and are noted for their rousing chorus songs, inviting audience participation. Impressed
Tim Jones, guitar & vocals, combines with Ted Kemp concertina and Karen Phillips fiddle to perform a mix of traditional and original material. Described as “a must-see band at this summer’s festivals”, come and see them at Tonbridge. Tim Jones & The Dark Lanterns
